La Vinya del Quintet
La Vinya del Quintet is, above all, a group of friends whose bond originates around a place that gathers them and offers tranquility: the Cistercian monastery of Santes Creus (Catalonia), whose origins date back to the 12th century.
ESTATE
La Vinya del Quintet is a two-hectare vineyard that forms part of a larger area known as the Plana de Sant Pere. Located not far from the Gaió River, it is a 100% Merlot vineyard, benefiting from a semi-humid Mediterranean climate and clay-limestone soil. The estate is managed following regenerative agriculture principles.
MONESTIR 2019
Careful hand harvest with sorting on a selection table. After two days of cold maceration, fermentation is controlled through manual punch-downs 1 to 2 times a day. Fermentation lasts approximately 20 days, followed by gentle pressing, after which the wine is racked into French oak barrels. Native yeasts are used, and sulfites are kept at a very low level.
TASTING NOTES
Seductive dark red hue with a high layer. On the nose, a fascinating bouquet of ripe red fruits, almost jam-like, intertwined with spicy notes of vanilla and coconut from its aging in French oak barrels.
On the palate, toasted notes of coffee and toffee emerge. Its passage in the mouth is an intense and elegant experience, where bright acidity is masterfully balanced with mature tannins that unfold gracefully, creating a lingering sensory delight.
