Mediterranean Wines
Born to highlight minority grape varieties that grow in the soils and mesoclimates of the Mediterranean arc. It is a research and collaborative project with local entities and winemakers.
THE ESTATE
Combination of the different mesoclimates of the Marina Alta region. The estates are located in the municipalities of Teulada and Xaló.
The soils are a mix of white limestone and deep clay, combined with various maritime influences.
Giró is organically cultivated and certified by the Committee of Organic Agriculture of the Valencian Community (CAECV).
LA GIRÓ [Marina Alta) 2021
Single-varietal red wine made from Giró, a native Mediterranean variety.
Carefully hand-harvested. 48 hours of cold maceration followed by a 15-day fermentation.
Tannins are carefully managed during winemaking with gentle pressing to avoid bitter notes on the palate. Lees are racked off until a clean wine is achieved. Bottled without clarification or filtration.
TASTING NOTES
La Giró is a red wine with a pale ruby color and medium layer.
On the nose, red fruit and spicy aromas stand out.
The acidity from the different zones balances perfectly with the alcohol and tannins.
A wine ideal for pairing with any Mediterranean cuisine dish.
A 100% gastronomic wine.
